There is something beautifully dislocated about the way the images accumulate: the enormous city reduced to a silhouette across the water; a train becoming a moving wall; infrastructure becoming sculpture; landscapes appearing and disappearing through windows. The camera is constantly in transit, yet emotionally suspended somewhere between arrival and departure.

A vividly costumed figure suddenly appears against absolute black—almost theatrical, almost absurd, almost like an apparition that has escaped from another film. The gesture is playful, but also unsettling. It breaks the documentary gaze and reminds us that every act of looking is also an act of invention.

A foreigner doesn't simply see a different city.
